The packers packed up our closet yesterday. Today, the packed it onto the truck and hauled it away. Little did we know that it was about to turn into the worse move ever. The driver had an issue, parked the truck in one of the moving company's lots and didn't tell them where it was. For several days, we didn't know where our stuff was and neither did they, since they driver wouldn't return anyone's calls. The company handling our mortgage for our house lost a bunch of paperwork and forgot our closing date, rescheduled and barely made that. We discovered most of this while driving two days from NH to NC. Then they finally got into our house and got our stuff, and we had a lot of broken stuff because they packed the truck too tightly. And some damage was because it set out in the NC heat for a week warping mirrors and wood. Crazy. I hope we don't have to move any time soon. Just filled in a picture I didn't upload during the move.
@susanalena Thanks. We have done 3 big moves in 26 months. We've been here since June and still aren't completely settled in. I hope we don't move any time soon.
Oh, wow, it sounds like a nightmare. I remember my daughter going through a lot of headaches when they bought a new house. I hope things will settle down for you.
@mittens We are hoping to stay here for a while. My husband can retire in 4 years. @digitalrn The military covers it. @ladygator I think the next time the Army tells my husband to move, I might be tempted to stay here. @anazad511@countrylassie This was from our move in June. Just filling in some shots I missed. I'm hoping we don't move for a long time after this one. @dide Luckily, it was stuff that is fairly easy to fix, like the back of the dresser and the back of the bunkbed. We just had to replace the thin board. @francoise Hahaha! This one was definitely no fun! @tremerryn I'm definitely looking to stay put for a while.
