My husband carries a variety of bandages in the first aid bag in his truck, everything from small band-aids to giant sterile bandages and everything in between. He also has some material to form a splint, special scissors, a variety of antiseptic ointments, a mouth shield for doing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, blankets and gloves. He used to have an IV kit and this special powder to stop bleeding, but they got too old. Most of this is stuff he was given when he took various combat lifesaver courses in the Army. And, while he has stopped at many car accidents, none of this was ever needed, thankfully. But, he assembled this kit after a man almost bled to death at a restaurant after having a heart catheterization. He was able to help the man until the ambulance arrived, but next time he will be prepared.
What a good hearted guy--to think of and be prepared for highway accidents. Good for him! It's a little unusual to combine first aid supplies and a Christmas tree but--hey--it's an appropriate creative choice!
Being prepared is always good! What he carries is a little beyond what I carry, but I always have a first aid kit with me. I have one in my car, one in my backpack, one in my bedroom, I keep a few band-aids in my camera case, and I personally saw to it that my family's excursion and pickup truck have a first aid kit in them. All that to say nice pic! lol
All these first aid kits are making me feel remarkably unprepared. It's astonishing! I might be able to find a band-aid in my purse, but only when I don't want them usually.
@tinapeterson You can never be too prepared for an emergency! @francoise Same with me. I haven't had the training to carry a bag like this! LOL! @danette Thanks!
@swilde Thanks!
