Every Friday over the summer, the chamber of commerce holds a Peanut Butter and Jelly Festival on the Highland town square from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local restaurants and organizations sell food and drinks, paint faces and make balloon animals, while a local artist peforms on the bandstand. My favorite was always the Elvis impersonator. And, of course, the chamber of commerce gives out PB&J sandwiches and popcorn to all the kids. The square is packed full of kids of all ages enjoying some summer fun. And later that night, they all come back for a community band concert.
@randystreat But notice that everyone is staying under the trees. It was very hot there Friday. And the squire lost a few trees last summer, so less shade this summer.
