Stile to nowhere (dry!) by if1

Stile to nowhere (dry!)

056 - I thought I would go for a walk and see how far the River Ouse had spread after yesterday's heavy rain, so I went onto Clifton and Rawcliffe Ings. The water levels have dropped a little, but I found this stile to nowhere, which I rather liked.

This picture was taken fairly close to the location of the one that I took on 4th April 2012. That location is now in the middle of a large lake!

The river level may still rise again as water from rivers in the Yorkshire Dales makes it's way downstream into the Ouse at York, but hopefully the worst is over.
Great capture, we have flood warnings in place, but has been lovely today. No rain! :)

It's been sunny and warm here too - now we only have to get rid of all this water!

Very cool capture to show the flooding. Glad the worst is over. The forecast for the weekend doesn't look too bad. Phew.

@fueast

Thank you Alison - the river has dropped substantially today, leaving just a few shallow lakes in places, so that's the end of the flood photos for a while!
