157 - We left York city walls at Monk Bar a few days ago, so now we've had time for a rest, our tour round them continues. We leave Monk Bar in a north-westerly direction, along the section that is most busy with visitors.
There are good views along here towards the Minster, York St Johns University, and a variety of other interesting old buildings.
This section of medieval wall is built above the much older Roman wall, but there is very little evidence of it that is visible.
Today's collage shows, from left to right, carved stone figures throwing boulders from the top of Monk Bar; two views of the wall walk; view of York Minster from the wall; the wall exterior; wall walk and interval tower; and finally Robin Hood Tower, the most northerly point of the walls.
Thank you Bruni, glad you like it! Lucy and I have been out a few times to take shots together, before she goes off to Uni again. It's fascinating to compare the different take we sometimes have on the same subject
@if1 That sounds like fun. I go quite often with my daughter on outings but she just points out something she thinks might be nice for me to take a picture of. so I know it can be fun to do it together.
Lucy borrowed my camera for part of her university year abroad in Spain and Switzerland, and she had begun to really enjoy taking photos, since I wasn't there to take them!
Thank you Bob, glad you like it!
Thank you Brian - it had to be a collage for this section of the wall, because there is just so much to see!
Thank you Roslyn, I'm glad you are enjoying the tour!

Thank you Tin, I was a bit spoiled for choice with the shots I took of this section of the walls, hence the collage!
Thank you Junan, and thank you for the fav! A collage was almost inevitable here because there is so much to see!
