222 - Ever since I posted a shot of York races in July, I've been intending to go again for another attempt. I was so sure I could do better. Well, what a disappointment - in fact a complete waste of effort, a total disaster on what is the last day of racing for this year. So I abandoned that and went for a walk through Knavesmire Wood, which is south-west of the racecourse.
I thought I might find horse chestnut trees there, and perhaps some conkers to photograph, but without success. But I did find lovely shafts of sunlight through the trees, and here is my attempt to capture it.
You did well. you captured the light coming through those lovely tall trees. don't feel too bad about your day..this picture will make up for it..it's beautiful.
Thank you Helen - this more than made up for the poor shots at the races!
Thank you Sue - I think the real problem yesterday was that I was so tired, so something static like this was much easier than fast moving horses!
