221 - A train trip today to see my mum and do some gardening for her, and what do I find? - she still has a lovely display of roses in her garden, with new buds still appearing, while mine at home are now looking rather worse for wear!
Hard to believe that I haven't included a rose shot in my project since June, considering that they are one of my favourite flowers.
I don't know what variety these are, but I love the pink fringing to the yellow flowers. I hope their colour brightens up your day as much as they did mine. Have a good weekend!
Update Saturday evening - I think these roses might be a variety called Carnival
Thank you Tony - there were so many nice roses I was spoilt for choice. An as for the train, I don't know how I would manage without it. I don't drive, so its train or bus, and I much prefer the train. York has good connections to all over Britain by rail, so that's really great for me!
@if1 Great to be connected to public transport. It is one of the regrets having moved here - there is virtually no way to anywhere apart from private vehicle.
Thank you Nat - she still has quite a few different varieties in flower, so if they continue to bloom, perhaps another shot on my next visit.
Thank you Christine, most of my roses are looking pretty ropey as well.
Thank you Ruth - still more with buds, so maybe another shot of a different variety next visit!
Thank you Louise - I put it down to all the love and care that my dad used to give them!
Thank you Lydia - my mum is very lucky to have these in view as she looks out of her window.
Thank you Lucy - there's lots of others too!
Thank you Janet - mum has some peace roses, but I think these are called carnival. They change from red to yellow as they open.
Thank you Netkonnexion - to be honest mum has so many nice roses, I was really spoilt for choice!
Thank you Junan, and thank you for the fav!
Thank you Jen - mum still has lots of really nice roses

Thank you ladyjane - as buds these are very red, and as they develop the colour changes towards yellow.
