Very simple... Maizoon Mosque

This was the second (and last) mosque I visited with Demyan. It was also the last of the list from the website ( https://theculturetrip.com/middle-east/oman/articles/these-mosques-in-oman-are-an-architectural-wonder/ )

Thank you for the positive comments on yesterday's post. I hope I do not bore you with too many mosques... Maybe just one more after this. The 52 frames challenge this week is "Hello from...." with extra credit for a sunrise. I was planning to go to the Grand Mosque with sunset one day, but will try to go early tomorrow morning.... After that I'll promise and will look for another subject to post :)

Anyway, this mosque was named after the mother of Sultan Qaboos, Sayyidah Maizoon bint Ahmed bin Ali Al-Maashani. It has a very simple and basic look. When approaching it, we thought it was an unfinished mosque and still needed painting!
When getting closer it did look OK, but very basic.
Wow! That is so flat... So unlike the medieval cathedrals one can see here on 365.

Still very impressive. I like the traffic lines all seeming to point at the mosque.
