hometown downtown

this building was originally the Wagner Hotel in the downtown area of my hometown of Dearborn. It is a beautiful old building dating back to 1896. is sits diagonally across Michigan Avenue to The Commandant's Quarters the only original building of an arsenal that had 11 buildings in a walled-in area. I shot this as it is a more attractive building although I did shoot a little of the detail on the Commandant's Quarters (now a museum). This is for my get pushed challenge from Marelize @ounooi "my challenge to you is to take shot or shots with architectural elements."
Very cool shot - beautiful backdrop for the bright traffic lights!

Very cool photo. Interestingly there is a building and corner that looks very much like this in my hometown of Boise, Idaho.

The bright yellow traffic lights juxtaposed in front of the old architectural structure makes a striking picture.

@flygirl @lisamccloskey @basqgirl @lyndemc I hadn't planned on taking all of this in one shot until I crossed the street from the other side and it framed itself up right in front of me! Amy I think I have seen buildings like this in a lot of towns...architecture was so grand then!
