Very beautiful moment

Great shot, reminds me of a movie, but a bit of a dramatic (Irish) movie because of his serious look and the not so soft post-pro. But a great shot, really!

Lovely photo. As I am your Get Pushed partner I challenge you to take a photograph of a landmark but in an unusual way (e.g. reflections, looking straight up or down at it). I hope you can return the favour by challenging me to something - though not selfies or portraits. I know I have not uploaded last weeks challenge as have trouble with my laptop and internet connection at home.

@la_photographic Hi Laura, thanks for the challenge. I shall be back later today with yours! Sorry I was kind of recuperating from the busy weekend!

I'm so jealous! This is beautiful!

@samzee please don't be jealous...I sweated for 12 hours straight while praying on Saturday. no more weddings. I was very blessed to have such a casual crowd to deal with. I have put the album on my blog if you wouldn't mind taking a look at it and letting me know what you think. there are obvious things I would like to change but as I said they didn't want too posed or "normal" formal shots. if you get a minute I'd appreciate the feedback. thank you. http://theblumblog.blogspot.com/

@anbeone @lxxx @nicoleterheide @vstap my real hope with these wedding photos is that this woman realizes what a beautiful woman she is. her self esteem lacks. I just kept looking through the lens when she would give me these poses and faces (she also stuck her tongue out) and just be amazed. thank you all for commenting. I do appreciate it! and yes Lxxx I agree that it looks sort of "Irish Drama" lol!

@jackies365 You did a great job! It looks like they had a good time. I'm not a fan of traditionally posed wedding shots either. I love the shots outside on the bench. I'm guessing the bench was covered. My only real issue was the overcast. I'm guessing it was overcast that day. Overcast makes beautiful soft light but it is downlight. It makes shadows under the eyes. Same is true for bouncing flash straight up but sometimes you have no choice. A reflector, a tiny bit of fill flash, or having the subjects turn the faces up and stand on a stool helps. I thought you used the bounced flash on the dance floor well. Dancing wedding photos make me happy and you had quiet a few. I'd suggest converting a few more to black and white. I tried it and it makes the stars on the ceiling stand out and reduces some of the distractions (expect those that give context). Your group posing is so fun! I need more practice. I'm inspired. P.S. You know skin retouching is my favorite. All brides need at least one photoshop'd to perfection picture. You know the one where they look 5 years younger and 10lbs lighter. ;) Other than that... congratulations! Well done.

My favorites (all the ones on the outside bench), 5, 11, 15 (O-M-G 15! Look at the smile. I think they're supposed to be praying but he can't help a sneak peek and a smile! Love Love love it. um, where was I... 20, 37, 57, 71

@samzee thanks for taking a look. I wish I had had the time and an assistant to help with stools and reflectors! I was given so little time for these shots. it was very overcast. the fill flash would have been the simplest option but I have zero practice with it! I just got a better flash and barely got it to work the way it did lol! this was supposed to be a small wedding which turned out big. I would have never shot it if I knew how big it would be. I will work on the shadows a bit. I don't know if I can do much to make her look thinner as I have already done some of that and can't go too far obviously. this is only a sampling of the photos. I took about 750. I will do more b&w as well. when they return fromMaui we will have a sit down to decide those. thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate an outside look. you get bleary eyed after a while! I have given her face more retouching as well in some closeups btw. these were put up quickly so she could have on fb. o really do appreciate you taking a look! thanks again : )

@jackies365 LOL! @ 750. I took 764 for my senior shoot. That's a lot of photos to cull.

@samzee oh my gosh...of one person? it is a lot of photos. most of the pros I have been following do a couple thousand but with two shooters at a wedding. of course a lot of them have their processing done for them. I struggle with workflow (a bit ADD) I jump all over and of course mine need more work than a pro's would!
