an overnight trip to Grand Rapids. went to see the fish ladder which helps the fish swim upstream to spawn. they eventually end up in these waters and the fishermen are there in big numbers. this is a huge river but it is extremely rocky and quite shallow for a good distance. I was fascinated by the fishermen as opposed to the fish ladder which isn't very photogenic and jumping fish are quite hard to photograph : \
