drove past this cottage today. Almost didn't pluck up courage to stop and take a photo of it. Actually it had the most beautiful garden full of spring flowers but I bottled out of standing right by the gate to get them in the frame. Wimp aren't I?
@kirstyalexandra YEAH, YEAH Kirsty, I believe you...... ;) btw did you know that your lovely Thai pic is featured in a discussion that is going on at the moment called something like "pick a groovy new shot from the latest page" (you prob did know, but it would be a shame if you missed it xx
Yes it's postcardish isn't it! I love the bicycle out the front. Good on you for having the courage to stop and take it. I know what you mean, I often wonder if someone's looking through the windows and wondering if I'm casing the place!
What a cute little cottage! I would've thought something like this only exists in fairytales! I'm glad you took a shot and I got to see this. Wonderful!
@northy@myautofocuslife The roof is thatched with reeds. It is quite common in the rural ares of the UK, although in some places straw is used. There is a tiny thatched church near here, I must get a photo of it some time though it always seems to be in the shade when I look. This cottage is in a nearby village but in the village where I live there are lots of houses with roofs like this.
That's an amazing place - you couldn't make up a more idyllic looking place - and I would have probably leapt over the gate to get a better view. Nice view in any case - love the little offshoot on the right with the wonky window.
