evening at the allotments

I went to have a look at our new pig house this evening (all being well the new piggies will arrive on Sunday.) The piece of land where they are going to be kept is adjacent to the village allotments, which are looking even more tidy than usual due to the fact that they were opened to the public as part of the village 'open gardens' which took place yesterday.

While I can't claim any credit for the wonderful vegetables being grown, we do provide a lot of our donkey muck to fertilise their plots.

I have a recurring nightmare that one day our donkeys and goats will escape from their field and get onto the allotments. Imagine the havoc they would wreak!

I would be nervous... Goats can jump and climb high and donkeys can open gates! I have experience - found you have to be good at cornering!

Sorry but your recurring nightmare just made me really giggle!!! I can imagine what they would do amd some of the more military minded allotmenteers would go totally mad. I used to love when I had an allotment just looking at the way different people managed their allotments!! :oD
