when I started on this project a year ago I had no idea what a big part of my life it was going to be. Not only in terms of the time commitment it would involve, but also in terms of how wrapped up in the whole 365 community I would become.
I have no doubt that I have improved as a photographer, not only because of the amount of time that I have had a camera pressed to my eye, but also because of the inspiration and encouragement I have received from my friends on the site. One of the most remarkable things for me has been how much I have learned, not just about photography, but also about the world and other people's lives.
Looking for a photo opportunity each day has made me see beauty in things that a year ago may have passed me by. Inevitably my family have been affected by my involvement (not only because the house is less tidy than it used to be) and in some ways it has got them looking at the world differently too. It is now not unusual for my husband to call me outside to show me something that he thinks would make a good shot and my kids do the same. I want to thank them for the patience and support they have shown me.
I will be carrying on with the project next year, but will allow myself to take on a more relaxed approach, so you can expect fillers and maybe even the odd gap. Hopefully this will give me more time for learning new skills (and keeping the house tidy and the laundry up to date!)
All I can say is Thanks to all of you (but in particular Ross @Scrivener) for making this site such an open, warm, supportive and inspiring place to spend time xxx
Congratulations on the final photo! That's exactly when my project ends, too:) The feeling is awesome, kind of strange thought, that I'm ending it!
It's been a pleasure to be one of the people who follows you, I will be around for the next year, too! Happy New Year's Eve!
That is a brilliant mosaic and thanks for putting the link on - I will have a look at it. 365 has certainly changed my life and I understand what you are saying about the house being more untidy, etc. because mine is too. Fabulous end to the year - Fav
This is fabulous! Housework and cooking has taken a lower priority for me... it doesn't bother me so much now... I'm training up the boys to do their share!
That mosaic looks fab, must check that out. Congratulations on 365 completion! And your commentary is almost word for word what I thought the first year I completed it - you just have no idea how it will impact on your life - in terms of the community here and just generally opening your eyes to things and making you learn more about everything! I'm a total addict now - just about to complete year 3 in less than 10 hours ....
Thanks for the link. I will be checking that out.
It is amazing to me how a year of photography seems to change us all in so many of the same ways. I'm also overjoyed by how the ripples spread to others. Many of my family and friends as well have started to "SEE" more.
Super cool! And glad you will continue... and I sure understand about letting the housework slide... gonna have to find a better balance myself for 2013!
Congratulations!! Excellent to get that final shot in, right? I was on the same timeline, so am feeling the pressure release as you describe it. Happy laundering!
Hi Jan I will try your programme I have already recommended it to two photographers, one designer and a magazine publisher. I have a website www.richardclarkephotos.com would you like to set up mutual links? Richard
Hi Richard. Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately I am not nearly clever enough to have designed the mosaic software. The link at the top of the page takes you to the website of the person who did. It contains his e mail address if you want to contact him. Hope you have fun with the programme. I did!

Happy New Year.
Tidying is overrated.
