no, we haven't got the snow back, this is a filler from a few days ago as I didn't have time to get out today (ooh, I like my new 365 rules!) This road leads out of our village and is known locally as the Drift Road, not really sure why... When it was snowy I took a trip along this road, which in places is quite bendy and steep. It is only really accessible in 4x4s when it has snowed and it is great fun! I love driving in these sort of conditions when I am not in a rush to get somewhere and haven't got anyone else in the car. It really boosts your confidence for driving in other icy conditions when you have done a few intentional skids in a safe environment.
Anyway, today wasn't snowy, but damp and windy. Lots of driving around for me with children's lifts and a visit to see my parents and all topped of with a trip to Sam's school for an information about a snow boarding trip he is going on at Easter.
Bumped into the dog walking out of the kitchen to her secret eating place in the dining room (how apt!) with six slices of ham in her mouth. Despite the fact that she did look pretty funny with them overlapping her mouth in all directions, she had a good telling off. She is a terrible thief.
Didn't get round to: a) making the Seville orange marmalade that I need to get done soon or the oranges will be off b) doing Graham's tax return.
Great light on this snowy road! Naughty dog - must be able to get up on to the bench! I've got too many strawberries - think it will be strawberry jam to your marmalade!
@dh haha, that reminds me of a weekend that I went away with some girly friends and called home to see how Graham was getting on looking after the kids and animals. When I called he was in the middle of clearing up after the dog had eaten a load of donkey muck and then thrown up on the living room carpet. I was dreading getting back to see what kind of a job he had done. Fortunately it was a good one!
Our dog used to steal butter off the work-surface. Packs of the stuff, if she could get her paws on it, or just licked straight out of the dish. You always knew when she'd been up to it (in addition to the absence of butter by her greasy whiskers and/or if you were unlikely enough to be the designated poop-scooper after the event.
Oh blimey - (b) is one to put off (though doesn't it have to be in tomorrow?!) Nobody tells you when you walk up the aisle that part of the deal is an extra tax return. And a whole extra family of birthdays to remember that your spouse will get credit for. Great lane though and a snow-boarding meeting sounds better than Parents' Eve tomorrow. And Nigel is at a dinner in London so I'm going by myself - thank goodness he did OK in the end - some of the teachers are formidable!
@tishpics funny you should say that Patricia. We don't know what breed she is, but if I had to guess I would say that she is a cross between a whippet and a staffie! Hmmm.......
Truly beautiful shot... you dog makes me laugh... can just picture the scene, lol!!! Tax returns.... oh dear... a complete and utter nightmare... think a glass of wine could ease the pain.;... fav for the shot ♥
