the tree, the gorse and stormy skies by jantan

the tree, the gorse and stormy skies

this is the tree that is the subject of my occasional 'same tree different skies album.'

I took this shot on the way down through the fields after taking my Mum and Dad up to visit the pigs. On this visit I discovered that they are infested with lice - the pigs not my parents. At the time of making this discovery I was treating them to the ever-popular 'back scratch with a long-handled scrubbing brush' routine when I noticed the eggs on their hair - Yuck! There is always something going on with these damn animals! Anyway, disgusting or not, lice aren't a big problem, they are specific to pigs (phew!) and are easily treated with a pour-on solution, but all the same I couldn't help but feel a bit itchy when I saw them.......... They must have picked them up when they were staying with the boar recently.

Angus finished school today, and his exams start next week. I think he might even do some revision this weekend.
Oh what a wonderful scene Jan, its like a beautiful painting! :)

Gorgeous view. Quite a dramatic sky! Hopefully you get the pigs sorted out easily. Animals need ongoing maintenance, never a moment to relax!

Lovely shot Jan... as for the lice.... not a wonderful parting gift for your gorgeous piggy sows... a very ungentlemanly thing for Mr Boar to pass on... like you say easily treated but. does make one want to scratch a wee bit though .... lol!! ♥

Love the drama and contrasts in this shot.

How rotten that your lovely piggy girls came home with lice. You'd think the boar's owners would have made sure he had no contagious conditions before the conjugal visit. Hmph!
