it's a blooming good year for dandelions

much better viewed large on black if you have time

I have got a bit of a thing about dandelion clocks and can't believe that after almost eighteen months I haven't already got any in my project - it is the 365 project after all and dandelion clocks are almost compulsory.

You know the sort of day when you do all the preparation and preliminary cooking to make a risotto, and then although you can find long grain, brown long grain, basmati, brown basmati, pudding rice, thai sticky rice and some red camargue rice that you have no recollection of ever having bought, you realise you haven't got any risotto rice. Well, it's been one of those.....

The weather has been so cold with lots of heavy rain and hail storms so all of my plans for working outside all day to start getting the garden sorted for the open gardens day in a couple of weeks went by the wayside. Still, I did write a list of everything I need to do between now and the day. It is a very long list, but once I have got a list, rightly or wrongly I always feel like I am half way there. Maybe I wont even wake up at 5am in the morning like I have been doing recently because I am worrying about it.

Angus had his final Physics and English Literature exams today. They were 'alright thanks Mum' which is two words longer than his usual answers, so that's got to be a good thing..... hasn't it? So he has got five more papers in the two weeks following half term and then he is done.

Sam has finished his exams today. They are only internal ones set by the school but he has been in a right old state about them, bless him - I have got no idea what he is going to be like when he gets to do the real thing.

wow, amazing detail!

I think if Angus says that, it has to be good! I haven't heard of dandelion clocks but I can see from this good picture what you mean!

@maggiemae Thanks Maggie, when we were little we used to blow them until all the little seeds had blown away and that told us what the time was - or so we thought

Know what you mean about dandelions . Apart from here I haven't seen any. Lists always help you focus so it is good to have one.

I love dandelions, I don't see them as weeds to be destroyed, so a bumper dandy year is good news for me! This is a fantastic shot, brilliant detail. Definitely worth a large view.

You need to add this picture to the Dandelion discussion list here on 365

Lovely clock! We are down to 5 (4 subjects) - feels like a holiday camp now. I have cleaned out my cupboards and ejected an awful lot of very old items that I am now going to need urgently....
