The first flower border you see when you walk into our garden is this one. It is planted in hot colours and really comes into its own at this time of year. Just as well really because everything else is fading fast.
These particular rucbeckia were given to me by a friend, and they were given to her by another friend. Very sorry, bedraggled looking specimens they were too when I put them in and I had no idea what variety they were or what they were going to look like. I love them, but have a feeling that they are annuals, so wont be making another appearance next year. Shame.
What a gorgeous rich autumnal colour !! I have a couple of varieties of rudbeckias , and both are perennials -which I cut down after flowering in autumn - to propagate them-- divide the clumps in autumn or spring !
Nice composition and focus.
