@jo13 Yes Jo. I am struggling a bit with the dof, but love it for the speed and accuracy of focussing. Because the dof is sooooo shallow I wonder whether for me there would be much benefit of the f2.8 over the f4, and like you say the weight is a big difference, and so is the cost.
@jantan Let's just say I have never wished I'd gone the extra mile to get the f2.8, the f4 L gives me everything I need, and I feel that extra weight is just too much. Have you tried the f4 to really compare?
@jo13 No Jo. To be honest, I am not really in the market for either at the moment. Just practising with the f2.8 because I am using it to take some informal pics at a friend's son's wedding in June. I had always thoguht that the f2.8 was my dream lens, but this has given me some interesting things to think about. I honestly think I could live with the weight, but most of all I feel a bit 'showy offy' and self conscious carrying it around. (ridiculous I know) I have still got six days of it left and will probably completely love it by then!
