I have been getting a bit of practice in with the 70-200mm lens I have hired for the wedding I am photographing this weekend. Must say I am far happier taking pictures of things like this than I am going to be on Saturday. I only agreed to do it because otherwise there would not have been a photographer, but to say that I am feeling rather nervous would be an understatement. And have you seen the weather forecast......................................?

A fave to encourage you Jan but agree your subjects won't be as still as this! I'm sure you will be fine once you get going but must be rather a nerve wracking prospect. Have a wee plan if you can & a whistle to get them to behave! Go for the informal, might be easier & nicer! Good luck!
@happypat what I forgot to mention was that the chief bridesmaid is a professional wedding photographer - gulp! She is however going to do the bossing people around bit.
@jantan oh horrors how very awkward! As long as she doesn't take over too much...if she does have a strop & give her your camera! Even more good luck! If all goes to,plan I think you will enjoy it.
Beautiful shot Jan. Try to enjoy Saturday, I'm sure you will do a wonderful job although I fully understand your feelings! Don't worry about the weather forecast - they always get it wrong!!!!
A beutiful tranquil capture. Good luck at the wedding - you will be fine especially if you have someone to help get the people together for their shots. Ask the bride and groom what pictures they would like as that will help with your plan. Can you go to the venue before the wedding to check out places for your photos. It will help if you know beforehand where you would like to put people for the shots. Good luck I am sure you will enjoy it once you get going!!
Thanks Pam, I have met with them and come up with a shot list, they don't really want loads of formal pics, just a basic few. I have been to the church to take a few test shots and they are very laid back, so hopefully it wont be too bad. My biggest fear is using flash. I have been learning lots about it over the past few weeks, so fingers crossed it wont be too bad. @pamknowler
