@ikamera challenged me this week to take a low-key photo. It is something I have been struggling with. One photo looks more low light then low key and the next is too dark. This is today's best effort. Looking at it full screen I think I am there. But sometimes on this site it seems darker. So all thoughts and suggestions welcome.
Well Joan, this is an excellent low-key shot, your lighting is perfect for the shot. The main interest is the decoration so that needs to be well lit, and we need to know that it is on an iron so the form of the iron needs to be hinted at without becoming a dominant feature... the girl done (very) good!
@vignouse Check-one type of photo realized. Doing the happy dance, because I've been working on this for a while. Thanks for all you encouragement and sage advice.
@atwinfay My sister and I both have pieces that she painted and furniture that my father made. When I'm being creative I say I am channeling my mother and when I am being impatient about something I am trying to do or haphazard then I am channeling my dad.
@atwinfay Oh that would be great. These things that our parents and grandparents made are so special. I have a reversed painting on class that my grandfather made. Will have to capture that some day.
