My partner this week @mej2011 challenged me to take a high-key. I don't have a lot of lighting to play with so I set this on a white poster board in front of a window filled with sun covered by a white see through curtain, then held a white paper to minimize the shadow. Don't know if I hit high-key but then there is a lot of discussion about what is hi-key. So I think I'm pretty close. My histogram looks pretty good if I understand what I am supposed to see.
This is quite simply the best I have ever seen from you, Joan: the composition, the lighting and your chosen subject all create a soft almost ethereal image. The Girl done %*&^$£ good! Fav - natch... two if I could ;-)
@lynnilou@debbie3108@vignouse Sometime you do something and you love it and no one even comments on it, So thanks my friends because your liking it means the most to me. Richard it came from what you said about the pastels I was trying to think of something pastel and remembered this flower. Low-Key/High-key checked of the bucket list.
this is great! I like the choice of subject and will try using paper as a filter... if we ever get any sun around here. I've heard that we have a whole day of rain ahead. (I've got a hi-key get-pushed challenge also)
@francoise Yes, without lights to use sunshine becomes your best choice. I have a piece of black posterboard and a piece of white because I love for using in still lives. I will be watching for your shot. Richard had suggested I use Pastel flowers for a subject. you seem to have lots of wonderful flowers around.
@johenn It sort of means you turn the background white while maintain some of the integrity of the object. Done best with about 5 lights well placed but I don't have those lights so I used bright sun and white posterboard.
