Top Seven

This was my plan for the city yesterday, to do a photo walk. I carried too much "stuff." So at times I felt tired and just wanted to find a place to sit. One of the places I sat was a bench outside the Portland Museum of Art. There is a new sculpture outside the museum - a seven. Have wanted to photograph it for a while but parking is not convenient. I wanted to find a pov that would be different and tried to channel my mentor @vignouse and one of my favorite photographer's @taffy. And then I tossed in a bit of my Fusion. Be honest.
I think it's a very cool and creative pov and comp.

Aw...I love that you are giving me some little bit of credit for this great structural image!! I really can't wait to visit Portland family members. Great excuse for a new photo area! Isn't that the museum with the gigantic structures outside -- maybe a bus covered in wires or something like that? I think I've been there.

That's awesome. Is that copper?

What a lovely pov and comp. I love the framing of the brick wall. Very nice!

Creative and well done.

I like your processing and the shape of the 7. I wonder what it would look like on a less busy background.

@taffy Taffy think you have the wrong Portland - I am the Portland Maine person and we have only 2 members in this area. And this is the only structure outside. By the way it is the street number.

@888rachel Maybe I should play with it.

I held off commenting straightaway, both to reflect a bit and to see what others might feel about it. I asked myself the question, "What would this say to me if I had just seen the image with no explanation?" And, sorry, but it doesn't say very much - it's not abstract, but neither is it clear (to me at least) what the image is about. That said, there has to be picture potential in a giant figure 7 in front of an iconic building - keep clicking and share it when you find it.

Nice! The textures and curves might possibly lend themselves to monotone too.

I love the orange/rusty textures. I sa a giant horse (of the chess set variety) with his mouth open. sort of menacing.

Very cool capture with great texture contrast

Ah! Seven. Wasn't sure till I saw the title. Cool view.

@vignouse well we both know that I have no abstract sense. Better I shouldn't try but we both know I will. Lol

I'm not commenting. It's all in the eye of the beholder, anyways.

Nice composition!
