Whose hungry? by joansmor

Whose hungry?

At the cookout Sunday I brought the steaks and I cooked the steaks. Some in our family have a tendency to squish the juice from the burgers and steaks and to keep turning. I know you put them on and then turn them once. And for doneness I used an instant read thermometer. Everyone said they were done just perfect. Mater of fact they said I could cook at all the cookouts. Ouch what did I do.
In France, you put them on, turn them and take them off in one fluid movement... if it ain't still mooing, it's too well done ;-))

@vignouse Sorry I like a sear on the outside. I have had tartar in Canada and didn't care for it. My mother cooked all meat beyond well done and I hated meat (including poultry) for the longest time. Then I learned it didn't need to be cooked that much. But rare nope not there yet. Medium rare for me.

I did something similar by cooking hamburgers and announcing that "I had done a man's job" after everyone said they were perfect (ie. edible for a change). I had the same exact thought: "what have I done?"
