Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery - I hope every one will take a Pittance of Time this month to remember the men who fought the wars that gave us peace if only for a time. And remember that everyone deserves peace it isn't the privilege of a few. Maybe if we remember the ones gone we will think harder before we go into another war and cemeteries like this will not get filled up.
This is the page where you can hear this wonderful song and Thanks Wendy for introducing me to it. http://poemsofremembrance.ca/A_Pittance_of_Time_by_Terry_Kelly.html
I went to the cemetery to take some pictures. I knew my camera battery was low so took my tablet just in case. Well the camera wouldn't fire and the tablet too was too low on juice for a picture. Thank goodness for cellphones. I just love the patterns, the dark face of the stone and the light on the edges, plus the shadows which were long on this cold, windy November day but filled with sunshine and hope.
Thank you, Joan for linking the song to this moving photo. Together they make a powerful tribute to the men and women who sacrificed so much, and continue to serve so we may have our freedom.
I was very moved by that song too. Having several members of my family who served in the military I am grateful that they came home. But many of their fellow soldiers did not. The paid a high price for us and I am grateful for their sacrifice. Well done!
