get-pushed-54

I begin with an apology to @summerfield . I've had to adapt my challenge as we're far from home staying with friends spending time at Glorious Goodwood. My challenge was "photograph a mundane object in combination of four interesting perspectives and white balance". My mundane object is the badge you wear to get in to the race course, usually attached by a little piece of string to a jacket. So this is "SPOT THE MUNDANE OBJECT"
Perfect composition. Nice red sock.

Love the edit.
I was in Reading station a few weeks ago and everyone was wearing straw boaters. It was a bit surreal. :)

It has such an old boy, pat on the back feel to it (meant in the nicest possible way). Super find with his red socks. How lovely to see people wearing hats. An interesting composition!

@happysnap It is quite surreal - and I'm told that this is casual compared to Ascot - I'm NOT of a fan of horse racing. I felt a bit like Martin Parr seeking out the most bizarre photos

@jocasta Wonderful opportunities by the looks of things - especially if you weren't watching the horses.
Thank you so much for your continued support, lovely comments and encouragement Jocasta, i really appreciate your following and always enjoy visiting your project too! Your photos are always interesting and varied!

This is brilliantly processed and has a real olden days feel to it. The steps lead you up to that wonderful model with his red socks (and strategically placed tie) before you go on to look at the spectators in the background. Love it.

@summerfield
I hope you find the badge in different perspectives over the next four days - I'm sorry about the white balance bit.

Ha ha I love Sue's comment @suesmith about the tie and agree that the processing sets the mood perfectly. Enjoy seeking out your bizarre shots, IIook forward to seeing them over the coming days.

i see it! i see it! but first i see the tie which gives me a big chuckle. my partner loves horse racing and i love going with him to the races especially that i can bring my camera with me and all is fair game, not just the horses. :-) this is brilliant processing and i can't wait to see the next ones. i like it!

meanwhile, i'm still procrastinating with my assignment! but i promise i'd get to it. cheers!

Great processing and response to challenge. I have to admit I love going to the horse races, but I get very upset when the horses fall.

This sounds like a great fun challenge! I love this chap reading his sporting paper, right in front of us up the steps. Had a snigger at the tie and found the badge. Great shot, I just adore your processing.

This does have a certain Martin Parr feel about it, very true. Great candid shot.

Didn't find the badge but just love your comp and the great atmosphere to it!

there is definitely something about this shot, I think it is the lean and that he is on his own with all the people segregated above.

Super shot, Jocasta and surely worth my vote :)

@stimuloog many thank - first time I've got to a vote - very exciting to be amongst such great photos

@farmreporter I know this doesn't count as my get-pushed challenge but it's the only photo of my year which I think is quintessentially British and thought it might amuse you. It's as though time has stood still for a century at these Race meetings - people dressed so formally and it's almost a set uniform.

Oh! I love it! Absolutely perfect! I can almost hear the accent (though you probably think that we are the ones with the occent!) LOL!
