The Art of Conversation?

We had a delicious lunch today at a lovely, noisy restaurant on Anglesey. The four people on the table next to us (students at Bangor University) were quite extraordinary - they'd come out for lunch together - but only looked at their phones - they hardly spoke one word to each other in over an hour. Left me feeling a little sad that this was the future.
The sad reality of modern day living! We make a concerted effort when out and about not to fiddle around with our phones.

Great shot - a sign of the times!!!

Effective shot. It makes me think about the visionary who said "it's not only telephone, life will go mobile".

It's sad when people just sit together on their phones! I like your shot! Great focus.

I'm afraid this is all too common.

Great shot to reflect exactly what you wrote. However, there is hope. They don't all do this! Our 22 year old gets very tetchy if we as much as look at our phones when in her company. She thinks it's very rude! I agree - if I'm in company and I need to check my phone, I always excuse myself - otherwise I wait.

You see this scene all to often. I agree it is rude and we always switch ours off if out for a meal. Great shot but sadly typical

The new form of conversation... which I don't understand, but the future is theirs not mine.
