—-we have only one repair shop in the whole area and they’re close since COVID time.

It's horrid when this happens. I dropped mine in a rock pool full of sea water when we were on holiday in New Zealand. I just had to buy a new one at the next town we went to and hope that I could claim on my insurance. Hope you get it sorted quickly and in the meantime, keep taking pics on your phone.

Thanks for all your concern and advises regarding my camera. The repair guy was nice to clean and fix the shutter issues. it’s working now but I’ve the feeling it will die on me again.🤷♂️
