Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh, chronicles the internment, interrogation and extermination of Cambodians by the Khmer Rouge between 1976 to 1979. An estimated 20,000 people were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng (one of nearly 200 such prisons). Less than 20 people are known to have survived.
The prison officials took passport size photos of all inmates on admission. Some of the photos of those who were soon to tortured and murdered are shown on the walls of the museum.
Thanks. This museum is quite simple but a really awful place.
