That's fantastic! Baffled by the focal length of zero on the exif though.......I have always wanted to take photos of the stars, but there is really far too much light pollution around my area to even see them most of the time. This is just gorgeous.

Thank you both. I suppose it is dark around here compared to some areas. When we lived in London (for about five years) we were within 5 minutes walk of Sloane Square that is probably never dark and I missed the stars terribly (although the lights of the city were fantastic!) But now, it's brilliant being able to see them whenever I want. (weather permitting of course!)
The Exif is confused because my wide-angle lens (12mm) is completely manual (aperture and focus) so the camera doesn't actually think that there is a lens attached at all!

Almost Tim, this is looking South West whereas Faringdon's glow was virtually North. It was also a lot, lot cloudier then.
Faringdon's glow was pointing the same way as this:
