Mama Capybara and Baby

During my trip to Nova Scotia we visited the Oaklawn Zoo that Louise and Ken had just discovered. The capybara babies were sooooo cute! Mama had a second one running around somewhere. At one time this zoo was a rescue shelter for exotic animals. "The Oaklawn Farm Zoo is located in Aylesford, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was opened in 1984, and is family-owned and operated by Ron and Gail Rogerson. The zoo boasts the largest display of Big Cats and Primates in Eastern Canada." This is not really the background for the capybaras but I thought it looked a little more exotic than their pen.

@louannwarren @777margo Capybaras are the largest rodents in the world and are related to guinea pigs.

That is simply brilliant! I was scratching my head trying to recall the pen looking like this, but I never saw them standing up, either! I absolutely love this!!!
