A couple of weeks ago Nigel put an extra piece of trellis on the bike shed and tied back the rambling rose and within hours the blackbirds had built a nest in it. It’s rather splendid actually because my neighbour had taken down some conifer branches and conifer fronds are now draped over the bottom of the nest. This last week mummy blackbird is permanently installed so I can’t get close enough to take any decent photos but I thought she should feature. Of course this means that we’ll have the stress of ‘not quite ready to be fledged fledglings’ to deal with at some point!
Weather: clammy
Covid: Adam has booked his vaccination for Wednesday- whoop!
Good thing: the cake I’ve made for dad hasn’t completely sunk…they never used to sink at all but these days sometimes I have to make three. I’ve no idea why except I think this time the fan cooling the kitchen may have been to blame.
