I got home from a big supermarket shop to find my neighbour decorating his 1934 Austin 10 ready for a wedding. He bought it in the sixties to take his wife on honeymoon. It's about the same age as the house and as such is probably the only car on the street small enough to fit in the garage. It doesn't come out very often and he has a sign in the back asking for patience (shame he needs that - you'd think it would be obvious). I have a nice close up of the flowers and shiny front bits but it seemed a shame not to show the whole car.
I still have a couple of collages to do from our hols but we have visitors tomorrow and it's fair to say we're not ready (!) - hope I'll have playing and commenting time later.
I recognise this make of car because Anthony & Jo had an identical one to take the bridesmaids to their wedding . I have just routed the photo out & it's the same only a blue one Reg no TY9936 !!! They are tiny but so sweet !
@happypat Rachel went to her 'prom' last year in an Austin 6 which is a 7 seater - the people mover of the 1930's! I should put a photo of it in Extras - it was a lovely dark blue. I love old cars like this but it does look very tiny when he's out and about in it - I hope the bride had a slim dress!
Oh how lovely. It's so heartening to find someone who is so committed to caring for something like this! I wonder if I have anything from the 60s?
These are such treasures!
My first new car, post college, was a 1966 AH 3000 MKIII! I do wish I still had it, but that has nothing to do with your image, which is just splendid.
