A filler from Wednesday today I'm afraid. I haven't ventured out much and have been nursing my sore neck and head. But we are off to a party shortly and the birthday girl has to battle with innumerable health difficulties so I can't let a minor inconvenience on my part get in the way of celebrating with her.
Three good things:
1. Little boys skipping along the pavement and making me smile. Adam was a keen little skipper and it took me back.
2. A new hedgehog visitor to the garden. Nigel said Monty was going crazy looking for him in a flowerbed, not noticing that he was scurrying across the lawn right behind him.
3. Free evenings coming up soon so I won't be so neglectful.
Hi there, a rushed visit as I'm trying to not have the weekend slip away from me. Such lovely light on that bridge. Funny Monty story. Don't let him scare that hedgehog - never seen one in person, only in B. Potter. Hope neck/head get better soon.
The lighting & subtle shadows playing on the water make this a special photo. Love that lone punter just standing so still & tall.
I haven't seen a skipping boy for ages & glad to see they still do a simple pleasure like that! Enjoy the party!
Beautiful shot for all the reasons mentioned by @happypat. Love the title too. I always liked that movie...don't know if it was the fly fishing or Brad Pitt that drew me in. :)
Cute story about Monty and the hedgehog...sounds like a childrens' book.
Take care of yourself and feel better soon!
lovely scene Judith - I was wondering why you had such perfect light when all I had was perfectly drab grey skies today!! great colours in the reflections. Have a lovely time at the party. The hedgehog comment made me laugh! excellent film / title
Beautiful autumn colours and light. A lovely scene. Isn't that dogs all over, so funny. Do hope your neck and head are better soon, these things are such a trial.
Glad you used this as a filler - it is such a wonderfully serene scene. Kylie does the same with squirrels. Hopefully a few quiet evenings will take the edge off your neck and headache.
@maggiemae Yes it's part of the river running through The Backs - as seen by your mother. Although I don't think the punts were on the river in winter in those days - people had more sense!
