Over the hill by judithg

Over the hill

There aren't many places in the county that you can find yourself actually going over a hill and this one would be considered sea level in many parts of the world! But it's the only place I went today that was remotely photogenic and it was this or a few spinning jenny seeds - quite nice but not quite enough depth in the focus. This was originally portrait and I've changed it to landscape - I'm not 100% sure that was the right thing to do but it brings out the straggly wild flowers more. This is a well fenced walk as it's specifically designed for letting dogs off lead. Unfortunately the wildlife has made gaps under the fence which Monty likes to go through - and then he can't find his way back and a lot of messing about ensues. So on grotty days like today it was lead time.
Three good things:
1. Shoulder feeling suitably beaten up but I think in a day or two it will be better - thanks for all the good wishes. This isn't the 'frozen' one which can now be described more accurately as 'chilled' as it has more (but not full) movement, it's the other one which seizes every so often. Entirely my fault - poor posture.
2. Internet Christmas shopping though I'm feeling guilty about the actual shops and have made one or two mistakes so far so .....
3. Real shops. We are very lucky in Cambridge to have a huge range.
Nice composition!

The OTHER shoulder!!!!!! Oh dear I do feel sorry for you , it's never ending!!!!!
Like your hill shot & like the DOF, rather inviting! Very pleasing composition too!!!!
Tui missed her walk today, the neighbour has been taking her with her dog down the field & she couldn't get hold of us on the mobile so she missed out, she was wining on the inside when Janet knocked !!!
Lens caps are £10 each Judith if you lose one!!!!!

I like the different degrees of focus in different parts of the shot. And I always love fences going off into the distance. Nice!

@fueast I believe you!! I can well imagine that lots of things are steeper than our poor Gogs but it's all we have to call 'hill' :0( And the giants will get us if we're rude about it.

The eye is drawn nicely down this clean path - she said, pulling her shoulders back!

Great place to let a dog run - until there is another dog coming from the other way!

Great shot, I was half expecting the sea at the end of it, it looks a little coastal-like. Cambridge hasn't slid closer to Suffolk has it?
November 21st, 2012
@mindella Wish is would - I'd love to be near the sea!
November 21st, 2012

How many times have i trod such a path, which leaves me only time to say Boo and Poo sticks...
November 22nd, 2012
Such a picturesque path fitting perfectly between the fences. It just invites one to follow 'round the corner and over the hill. Beautiful!
