Always take a ladder with you

This is where I'm going wrong - not enough kit. I thought I'd sorted a photo today as Nigel bathed a very muddy Monty but all of the photos are blurry. Mostly because Monty was trying to escape. So you have one of the official types from yesterday. Hard work being a photographer. I noticed on the news that there was a whole forest of them - I'm sort of surprised that the visit made the national news as it was fairly low key here - must have been the new fringe!
I am a bit snowed under with things at the moment but will get to your photos ASAP.
Three good things:
1. Lovely people commenting on both of my last two photos. I know Royals aren't everybody's cup of tea but it's a whole new photo op and at least these two want to be with each other! I notice I've recorded three Royal visits in my album so far - I'm going to have to get myself a Union Jack outfit and a fold out chair so I can stake out the best spot like the proper fans do!
2. Progress on a Christmas present dilemma.
3. A clean bathroom after the post-Monty carnage.
Oh good grief. I bet his photos weren't any better than yours. I'm two steps forward 1.5 steps back on the Xmas present malarky.

Carrying all this would be tough with your shoulder and Monty. No matter how clean he is.

by heck!
bet you've better shots..

I looked at the crowd more than the Royals yesterday Judith to see if I could spot you!!!!! A pair of step ladders ha to be a must for all our Christmas lists this year!

@happypat I looked for me too but fortunately further away off to the side - I don't want to be seen being a fan!!

great shot - you couldn't be carrying all that kit with your shoulder - you'd need an assistant!!

I like how you have got just his face in focus! Can't think how you did this except with a vignette! I'm just starting to think about Xmas presents and have given up already!

Love the serious enthusiasm shown here...goodness knows what the end result was, but gotta give the guy credit for knowing what he was after!

Yes, I looked for you on the telly too! I thought it was well covered - your coverage was the best though! This is so funny and I love your title.

Cool zoom! He wants to get an OH to carry all his camera gear. Works for me. ;)

I don't think the ladder would help your shoulders. Great shot even with some motion blur

@judithg LOL just a photo op Judith!!!

Wow, he sure has a lot of equipment. Great capture and processing.
November 29th, 2012
Well he is prepared for all events , lol

Wow, I guess a ladder for looking over everyone else. Or you could just get there early with your chair and grab a front seat!!
I also looked for you in the news!
Can I just ask, did you get the zoomy effect in camera or in processing?

@joannapayne @maggiemae I used a focal zoom effect from PicMonkey - I don't often use it but the background was busy.

Love the zoom effect, it gives an impression of how frantic his day was. Not sure I'd like to carry a ladder round with me all day! xx

I love the zoom effect as well. That's a lot of gear!

This guy is prepared for any obstacle to the perfect shot. As for me, I'll just take the shot that's available...spoken like the rank amateur that I am. Marvelous capture, Judith.
