I got all excited about the prospect of some frosty shots in the Botanic Gardens this morning, and coffee and cake in the coffee shop, while Adam did hockey training and burned off the calories I was eating. I so wish he could do that for me - I would be a stick. Unfortunately frosty flowers meant frozen pitch and it was cancelled. Still a beautiful sunny day beckoned me out with the dog and camera. I headed home with shots in the bag - but it turned out to be one of those failure days in the cold light of computer-based observation and I had to resort to this nice skeleton that Nigel brought me from the garden a few days ago. I've started on the family calendar for next year which will be really easy once I get to March because at that point I had a brainwave and started using a sensible naming scheme (according to date - duh) for my 365 photos. So if I'm slow to comment it's because I'm beating my head on the computer trying to get it to do what I want.
Three good things:
1. Fire on
2. Trawling my way through the CD collection for the first time in ages.
3. Fab time out at friends last night - sit down dinner for 14 with no stress - wish I could do that!
What a wonderful image - so fragile and so beautiful. A fav for me, too. Going back through photos and renaming them is hell - sending you lots of energy for doing that ;).
This is a brilliant shot. I've never seen a skeleton of a holly leaf before. I imagine they take a long time to decompose? We did our calendar earlier this week - it takes ages, especially as we both have to agree on the best photos!
The Holly skeleton is more beautiful than it's living form...almost ethereal in the way you have processed it & another fave!
Sounds like lots of work but wonderful to have your own personal calendar, I presume every relation you have will want one!!!!
This is really nice. Talking of CDs I'm sure Steve has pinched my Who CD because I can't find it anywhere. I must go and have another look. Glad you enjoyed your night out
