Surely not a bike shot? I love to walk along the towpath but Monty has become such a complete pain, alternating dawdling along with digging his heels in and completely refusing to move, that I haven't been in ages. I have a theory that he knows that he has no chance of off-lead play on that walk and so he doesn't want to do it. So I concocted a cunning plan today and decided to approach the walk from the opposite end. Usually (at least in the good old days when we actually got some speed up) Bait's Bite Lock is the far end of my walk and you can either cross over and go back across the fields or turn round and retrace your steps. In this one it was at the beginning, but it took so long to walk down to the towpath (the approach road is quite a bit longer than I remember!) that we actually didn't get much beyond it! Still it was pretty in the sunshine and the river is in full flow so it was dramatic over the weir. I'd really like to set up a little teashop at this spot!
Three good things:
1. 100 Favs on my Snow in St John's Street pic - I'm overwhelmed.
2. Yesterday's pic on PP for a bit - thank you!!
3. Dinner's ready :0)
....and 55 on Bonkers! You're famous! Love the sunshine - and the bike of course - in this one. I know the feeling when they decide they just don't want to go that way. Betty is a sniffer, and sniffs at everything - sooo frustrating!
A beautiful bike shot in an unusual location. I remember walking there with you and lying down on the gravel for a snail I didn't even post ;). 100 Favs, awesome! And totally deserved!
@jannaellen I was thinking about you when I was there. At least on that occasion we managed a proper walk! Today, even with the sneaky route, every time we passed a bench Monty went to sit next to it!
wow that is incredible........100 favs well done and well deserved and actually i can see it in my mind too!! Dogs are just getting a little TOO intelligent eh?!!
Love all your bike shots & this lock has such a very interesting name...Baits Bite Lock, there must be a story there!! Congratulations ...100 faves!!!! the mind boggles!
Looks like such a beautiful place to walk ....and love the bike photo!! Our pets are very smart and clever ..more than we give them credit for sometimes. I'm not suprised at the 100 faves ... that photo was gorgeous.
Nice shot -- bikes are great subjects, maybe because they are so much fun and also contain varied shapes and complex parts. My cocker used to love to run and scamper in the park, even go down the sliding board, until an evil chow named Bobby showed up. One encounter with him and my dog would not go near the park.
a 100 fav shot - wow that's great, my most is 70 for my Banburgh Castle! Note to self, must do more snow shots! er maybe next year!! nice bike shot - out of the normal Cambridge context. Have you looked / used those recipes yet? any good?
If Monty is anything like my greedy kitties, he will have a very clear memory of towpath=treats even if you do it just once or twice.
Your snow photo is just...the best. I can close my eyes and see it, and I haven't looked at it in days.
