I veered off the road as I cycled past Jesus College because I spotted the path which looks pretty in the evening. I'm always threatening to photograph it and decided that tonight was the night. I had to stand my camera on the floor and use the timer to avoid camera shake and as the step at the front has been worn down by thousand of student footsteps I had to sit the camera back a bit. In the end I liked the curvy step and the leaf and decided to leave them in. I think the shadowy forms and ancient buildings work quite well for Guy Fawke's Night which means that I don't have to venture forth for firework shots and can hold Monty's paw while he stresses out about the bangers. I have a theory that there is a lot of high pitched whining that we can't hear because quite often he goes mental about fireworks that we hardly noticed.
Oh dear he's scratching at something - better go!
Three GT:
1. Coffee with nice school mums.
2. I have ordered my Christmas cards on a special early deal - never been organised enough for 'early deals' before.
3. Adam back at school so a chance to tidy a bit.
What an inviting scene. Love the soft glow of lights,( or is it sunlight) along the wall. Lovely natural lead to the college. Don't blame you about the firework thing although I have to confess I did have a look at my Nikon 1 for dummies book to tell me the best settings. Never ventured out!
This is lovely. I completely agree about the high pitched noises. Our dog is hard of hearing for deep noises, but definitely hears high pitched ones that we can hardly hear
Love the light, both over all and the down lights. Hope Monty's OK - Luna's OK with fireworks usually but she's been a bit edgy the last couple of days and I'm not sure if it's because of that or the million foxes around at the moment
What a great shot. Fab pov, all those lights leading us down to the lighted entrance. Lovely old stones and wall with the bikes that is so Cambridge. I like the curve and the leaf, the are a good foreground setting to the rest of the shot. Fav
Very nice pic - I like the atmosphere created by the pools of light (I agree with you about fireworks - they cause animals a lot of stress and should be limited to public displays, and to one night only. I can hear more outside now - that's the 7th night in a row - ridiculous!
Wonderful shot Judith - love your pov and all those bikes, and of course, the ghosts! We were in holding our hands over Rennes ears too! : )) Fireworks over for another year I hope! : ))
