Look at those chimneys

A rather dismal day and most of my photos were spoilt by camera shake - a side-effect of having the dog in tow - but then without the dog I wouldn't have been out.
I ventured back into town to buy curtain lining which weighed a ton - I didn't stay for the Christmas lights switch on even though Cambridge City Council have gone mad this year and hired one quarter of 1981's Eurovision Song Contest winners and somebody who didn't win X-Factor.
Three GT:
1. Rafiki did not catch the mouse she was after in the shed and, therefore, has not left it in my bedroom.
2. Cloche hats
3. In the process of trying to get the back off my bike light to change the battery, Adam miraculously fixed it.
Magnificent chimneys & you would be so proud to own a chimney like that....love the way you caught the girls looking up!
Cloche hats are rather the thing...I have bought a sort of cloche hat from Lydias Saturday job shop...50% off. I tried it on & Harry thinks I look old.....was going to wear it to the London meet up with @padlock & co but can't go now. I might do a selfie when my hair has grown a bit!!

Brill, love this street, have a pic of it somewhere myself. Who won in 1981 then?
November 17th, 2013
Yes I like this street, love the way you have captured these individuals looking up at the chimneys, one is wearing a safety helmet incase of falling bricks!! Great Cambridge shot, your forte. Fav

Beautiful processing. Lovely capture. Your commentary about the light switcher onners made me chuckle :o) xx

I like this comp. It's almost taken at the same spot that I took my photo from, at Oct 26th! :)
November 17th, 2013
Great processing!
November 17th, 2013
Nice vintage processing and they have obliged in wearing dark retro looking clothing :-)

Can't believe architecture like this! Chimneys all on the street! Where would the smoke go? An original and great picture!
November 17th, 2013
I know that street so well, love it... pointed my camera down there a couple of times! This is such a such a charming shot - love your processing! : ) fav

Great shot Judith - I'm sure I've walked along that street - does it lead to John Lewis's?
November 17th, 2013
Wonderful architectural photo - but it works for me because of the two girls walking arm in arm - and most importantly, looking up at the spectacular chimneys.
November 17th, 2013
Cool chimneys, it has been dismal today.
November 17th, 2013
Wonderful capture and I love your composition.
November 17th, 2013
You are trendy ......
November 17th, 2013

November 17th, 2013
Great POV and I love the way they are looking up
November 17th, 2013
Lovely shot
November 17th, 2013
@boxplayer Can't believe you don't know - the legendary Bucks Fizz ;0)
November 17th, 2013
@rosiekind It runs down the side of Trinity.
November 17th, 2013
What a great atmosphere you've created here.
November 17th, 2013
I love those chimneys -- looks like you had a misty day, too!
November 17th, 2013
Great chimneys
November 17th, 2013
@judithg oh darn, can't believe I missed it, why didn't you tell me?!
November 18th, 2013
Love the repetitions. And did you coach them to gaze upwards?!?!
November 18th, 2013
Love how their gaze leads the eye to check out the top of the chimneys
November 18th, 2013
I love the feel of this shot. Nicely done.
November 18th, 2013
This looks like a scene from a really nice romantic movie. Instant fav for me :). Love their casual stride, their arm-in-armness (is that a word ;)?) and their upwards glance.
November 18th, 2013
I love the colours here and how amazing to capture these two without anyone else around to detract from the super image you have captured! You can almost hear them saying 'Wow!'
November 18th, 2013
Got exactly the same shot as this, but instead of the 2 girls, there's a guy on a bike. Gonna have to find another one, now-Hmmph! Actually yours is better than mine, anyway, I prefer the faded look to the colours
November 18th, 2013
I love the way the chimneys fade out and the two figures. I thought Bucks Fizz were flipping burgers now - or is that Dollar?
November 18th, 2013
@pistonbroke Sorry!! Competitive Cambridge 365ing in action :0)
November 18th, 2013
love it - fav - such great height on it
November 18th, 2013

November 18th, 2013
A great capture of these two looking up at the chimneys.
November 18th, 2013
Beautiful composition, great lines and textures.
November 19th, 2013
Wonderful work. Amazing composition.
November 19th, 2013
Wow! Cool shot. Great find. Now they build houses without chimneys and it creates all kinds of exhaust issues.
November 19th, 2013
Love the reptition of the brick buildings. Excellent comp and tones.
November 19th, 2013
FAV. Lovely shot. Awesome tones, and the perspective is great. The couple make the shot.
November 20th, 2013
