After a couple of days of being presented with potential bird shots, including heading down Garrett Hostel Bridge and coming face to face with a heron no more than 8 feet away and two jays practically throwing themselves at me this morning, I was a tad frustrated at my inability to photograph them. Luckily for me this little wren not only announced its presence very loudly but also sat and posed long enough to give me a shouting chance. Still underwhelmed with the focus but on the whole who can resist that little tipped up tail?
Three GT:
1. First batch of sausage rolls of the season (not quite all eaten).
2. Both minced meat pie and mince pies underway.
3. Nigel in the taxi home from Heathrow.
A superb little wren shot! I love these birds! Did you know in very cold weather they all roost together inside bird boxes and there can be twenty or more of them in a fluffy warm mass!
Marvelous shot of that darling little wren! Sounds like you've been quite busy in the kitchen. I was going to start with Christmas cookies yesterday, but couldn't tear myself away from the football games. Will try again today to get the baking underway.
Love wrens. Could never decide between the wren and the cormorant for my no.1 favourite mooring bird (yes we did have rankings) but they were consistently up at 1 and 2.
