I just read your profile text for the first time. I've been struggling for the last few weeks/months with inspiration. but will keep plugging on because I love photography so much. Good shot Julie.
@gamelee Thanks, Lee! Now that 2019 is almost over, I see that I haven't accomplished all I wanted to. But, that's ok. I got into a terrible mindset this past year of thinking I should take photos that people would want to purchase - all because I was in two rinky-dink art shows. When they didn't sell, I got a little miffed. I recently shook myself out of that silly mindset and feel a bit renewed with my photography. It's for me and me alone. When I start thinking I have to please someone else, it becomes drudgery. Not worth it! So . . . I just upgraded my 50 mm lens and want to work with that for awhile. Also, I joined creativelive.com and plan on taking some photography courses just for the pure joy of it. They have some free courses I want to check out. Anyway, I'm happier now and have a bit of renewed motivation. I wish the same for you, Lee, however you accomplish it. Your photos are great! :)
@juliedduncan yes!!!! I am with you! I went through something very similar. Now I'm back among like minded friends and take photos because I love it. I am going to check out those free courses. Thanks, Julie.
Nice pov and after Lee's comment read your profile. I agree, once you have the pressure of sales your hobby just isn't a hobby any more! Enjoy and keep the shots and motivation going 😁
that's a fabulous image, julie, as yours always are. i am a big fan of your photography. interesting to read about your journey ... i have dabbled a little in the past year with selling prints and cards ... wonder about setting up a website ... decide i should be much more active on instagram selling myself ... and don't do any of it. then i start dabbling with composites, which i really enjoy, though it's very time-consuming and the mouse action is giving me a dodgy arm ... and while all the thinking is going on, i too can lose my phojo and not take my camera with me and kind of lose track of myself ... hey ho, it will all be resolved, and it feels good to know that other people, including hope @mzzhope, go through similar times, and that 365 continues to be a place for support and inspiration and learning :))))
Thank you, Clare! I love your photos and admire your great editing skills. I have to sympathize with your dodgy arm - I know I'm doing a lot of photography when my right arm starts to hurt! Ha ha! Anyway, it does all work itself out when we come back to our love of the art and use it to express ourselves however we want. 365 is a great place for that! :)
