In very early Spring, before the grass started growing, it was the time of the daisy, stretching up into the first weak sunshine. Then came the Cuckoo flower turning the fields pale lilac. Then the Dandelions exploded into a rich golden abundance. Now, with the meadow grasses growing fast, is the time of the Buttercup with it's longer stems able to compete for the light. They give a more subtle lemony yellow haze to the fields, with a tasteful white frosting of dandelion seed heads as a backdrop. I do love Spring :)
Oooh I just love this capture, as we are fast approaching Winter this shot makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, thank you! Oh and being so new I have no idea what POV stand for?
@katrinastabback - Just approaching Winter where you are,... I think you are in Australia? Anyway, it must be funny seeing all the Spring themed shots! POV stands for point of view so it just means the viewpoint from which you choose to take the photo
@jomo - It so happens I was lying down in the long grass to take this ... much to the confusion of my dog. :)
@rickster549 - thanks ... there is a delightful mix of colours at the moment!
@shirleybankfarm - I have been amazed at so many people saying the same. I knew that things are a bit ahead the further south you are, but I think this year the difference is even more pronounced
I was commenting on the buttercups this morning as we walked in Ashridge Forest. Love your picture for the wide diversity of flowers which we have here. fav
Thanks Julienne, yes, yes, on the South East Coast of New South Wales Australia. It is a lovely reminder that Spring is not too far away and really our Winters' are very temperate by comparison. Thank you for the explanation .
