Charlton Viaduct by julienne1

Charlton Viaduct

A disused viaduct in Shepton Mallet consisting of 27 segmental arches. It was built in 1870 to carry a single railway track over the River Sheppey. Originally it was built of stone with brick arches, but in 1892 it was widened with red brick to carry a second track.
Beautiful construction and lovely shot.
