This is the Pohutukawa Flower, sometime called the New Zealand Christmas tree. Ours are just starting to bloom so this is probably going to be the 1st of many.. It is a coastal tree and canbe found all up the North Island Coast line.. The Tui's and Bee's love them.. Botanical name.. Metrosideros excelsa...
