Morton bay fig ... by julzmaioro

Morton bay fig ...

Came across this HUGE tree yesterday while on our way home from our couple of day's away.. we took a little detour to the little sea side village of Pahi.. and this Morton Bay Fig is in the Domain there.. It is believed to be the biggest of it's type in the World.. and is believed to have been planted in 1840... as you can see Sister Rob' is dwarfed by this monster... The wood pigeons were very busy flying in and out as the 'fig' were ripe and all over the ground...
Certainly a gigantic tree, great to include Sister Rob to provide a sense of scale.

Incredible! The inclusion of a person gives perspective to the size of the tree. Great find!

Incredible. We have some large Morton Bay figs here, but I don't think I have ever seen one this big. So good that you have your sister in the shot to give it a sense of scale.

What a fabulous tree. The figure gives a good sense of scale and size. I hope it produces lots of fruit?

@busylady It had a lot of fruit on the ground and tree but I don't think they are edible ... very small but the birds seem to be busy in the tree..
