Went down to our local Surf beach today with @dide and had a nice walk along the beach.. The Surf club was on duty and doing a sterling job.. There was some people that were following the rules and swimming between the flags.. This beach can be very dangerous and has to be treated with a lot of respect.. there has been a fatality since Christmas .. While walking along the beach we saw a family that was bucking the system and swimming about 300 mtrs away from the flagged area.. parents sitting up on the beach and leaving the 5 children in the water... fools...
Great shot. They do a fantastic job.
Unfortunately lack of supervision is why most kids drown. We have had a few fatalities too. A four year old left unsupervised in the surf. It is very sad.
As a side note, the leading cause of adult drownings is Alcahol, and drownings are most common in rivers.
@karlow75 hahahahaha - a tad biased Kane LOL - I support the firefighters - career and volunteer - and the surf lifesavers every year
and yes - lifesavers in particular have to put up with some real twits!
I thought this might be in the same area as the one Dianne took! It looks so divine and must be wonderful to those overseas who are not used to beaches like this!
A great tribute and I agree. when you see parents sitting on the beach and their kids swimming outside the flags it is awful. There are fatalities here too especially at some of our beaches where rips are a problem.
