Tui in the Kowhai

I stood for some time today under my Sister's Kowhai Tree.. To the point I got a sore neck.. The Tui's are busy with the joy's of spring and 'chasing' each other in and out of the kowhai tree which is in full blossom at the moment.. Both the Tui and the Kowhai are native to New Zealand. The Kowhai is one of the few Native's that are deciduous .. so along with the blossom at the moment are the seed pods that are remnants of last years flowers,

He is a handsome bird & looks very nice among those yellow leaves....shows his black feathers off! The patches of blue are pretty.

@busylady Yes it is a lovely frilly collar and then the two feather on the chest.. they really have interesting markings and change with different light..
