Every Easter I have to make several batches of Hot Cross buns for the family.. have got a very busy weekend but the first batch came out of the oven in time for lunch today .. and they were pretty good.. Happy Hen seem to think they were pretty good as well..
@maggiemae It is in my genes Maggie .. My Mother made bread the old school way every day.. my brother and I use to fight over the 'bit the baker kissed'...
You are so lucky to have that memory! Mine was going down to the very small bakery with an order for the fresh bread and eating the middle out of the bread before we got home!
Oh you have a happy hen too. I have unfond memories of my first (and last) attempt at making hot cross buns - I still feel sorry for the birds who broke their beaks trying to eat them. Lovely composition.
