The last light in the park..

As I was walking around the Auckland Botanical Gardens last night I was taken by the beautiful light falling on the Cherry grove and lovely white daffidals .. I broke the rule and took the shot into the sun ....

Sometimes shooting into the sun is what makes the photo special. I love the light here - plus the foreground shadow. The rays are lovely too.

Why not crop off the LH quarter? The sun's done its job by giving that lovely light... I really like the shot without those rays which have become the main feature and a distraction for me (fine if that's what you were aiming for, of course). Sorry I'm just giving a personal opinion and looking at all those favourable comments about the rays I'm out of step with current fashions ... old school.. we were told that you use the sun but never include it in the shot!

Sometimes it's good to break the "rules". Such a beautiful part of the park! I think you could go either way with the sun rays.
